Southern End of Burlington (communities south of the QEW/403):
Aldershot-This community is situated in the west end of Burlington and provides direct access to Hamilton. Aldershot is currently undergoing revitalization with many construction projects.
Maples-This section of Burlington was originally a prime market gardening area for all of Ontario. Urbanization has converted some of this land into one of the top shopping malls in Ontario called Mapleview Mall.
Downtown-The downtown area of Burlington has also undergone a large facelift with the development of Spencer Smith Park, Spencer’s Landing, The Baxter, and waterfront development. Downtown is the hub for many restaurants.
Roseland- This high end residential neighbourhood provides many styles of architecture but is considered one of the most desirable places to live in Burlington. The homes are generally large and so are the lots! Many park areas and steps to Lake Ontario.
Elizabeth Gardens-This area is located in the south-east section of Burlington and is a very mature area with great shopping, many schools and long term residents.
Cumberland / Dynes-This community is located east of Guelph Line but south of the QEW. This area services a large area of retail commerce and plazas. It also boasts Burlington’s second largest mall, namely, the Burlington Mall.
Nelson / Longmoor-Once again located in the south-east are of Burlington and comprised of 2 major high schools, specifically Nelson (ranking) and Robert Bateman formerly Lord Elgin (ranking). The Nelson area is generally considered more up-scale and is very mature with easy access to most major routes and highways.
Pinedale / Sherwood-This area is the farthest east community in Burlington and is adjacent to Bronte. The Sherwood area has undergone a lot of residential development, especially with high density construction.
