Dundas, Ontario, Canada's nickname is the Valley Town. The population has been stable for decades at about twenty thousand, largely because it has not annexed rural land from the protected Dundas Valley Conservation Area. With the establishment of McMaster University in nearby west Hamilton in 1930, Dundas gradually became a bedroom community of the university faculty and students, with a thriving arts community. Dundas has a large community of potters and several studio shows/walking tours of the town feature their work each year.
Dundas Real Estate
Real estate in Dundas has not really changed much over recent years! Probably, for the same reason that the population has not increased in the last 7-8 years. Predominantly, a bedroom community that finds most of its employment in Hamilton, Burlington and even Toronto. Dundas has maintained its unique Victorian Village atmosphere and in numerous cases, many of the older factory buildings have been converted to condos or torn down to make way for more modern structures. As in Ancaster, there are many types of structures and sizes, most are more older character homes and these help to keep the character of the Town. Prices range from mid-100’s to over a million dollars!
